Dog Park Installation in Tampa Bay
Go Outdoor Amenities (GOA) plans and installs commercial dog parks for Tampa Bay properties in Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties. Many of our Tampa Bay conversations start with an existing fenced grass run at a condo, HOA or apartment community that residents have outgrown. Whether you are upgrading that run or building a new park, every GOA project ends in a written scope that separates equipment, freight, site work, installation, warranty and exclusions. Installation is included when it is written into that scope. For the statewide overview, see our Florida dog park installation page.
Upgrade the dog run you already have
A retrofit is often the fastest way to a better dog park because the fence and gates may already be there. A GOA site review looks at what to keep and what to add:
- Keep or repair: perimeter fence, gate hardware and a double-gated entry if there is one.
- Add: agility elements such as jumps, tunnels, weave poles, ramps and pause tables; shade over seating; benches; waste stations; rules signage; and a water point where the site supports one.
- Fix first: worn, muddy entry areas and spots that stay wet after rain. A new surface only helps when the water underneath has somewhere to go.
If the existing run is too small or in the wrong spot, the scope can cover a new park instead. Either way, removal of existing equipment and site work are quoted only when written in.
Who we build for in Tampa Bay
- Condo associations: small common areas near the water, where a compact, easy-to-clean run matters most.
- HOAs and CDDs: including newer master-planned communities in Pasco County, with scopes a board or district manager can take to a vote.
- Apartment communities: pet amenities that site managers can pitch to their regional team. See apartment communities.
- Parks departments: quotes and RFP support. See cities and municipalities.
Tampa Bay permitting: three counties, three offices
Which office applies depends on the parcel, and incorporated cities such as Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater run their own permitting.
- Hillsborough County (unincorporated): Development Services, (813) 272-5600. The county lists PVC, wood and chain-link fences as exempt from a building permit, but electrical or concrete fences need one, and it asks owners to call zoning about every fence.
- Pinellas County: Building and Development Review Services, 440 Court St., Clearwater, (727) 464-3888, which serves unincorporated Pinellas and six partner communities.
- Pasco County: Building Construction Services, 8661 Citizens Dr., Suite 100, New Port Richey, (727) 847-8126. Pasco's permit-exemption list does not apply to commercial buildings or parcels, or to parcels in special flood hazard areas.
That last point matters around the bay: a lot of coastal property sits in mapped flood zones, and a dog park for an apartment complex or association is not a backyard project. GOA's default Florida scope does not include permit fees or filings, but we coordinate licensed trades and permitting under a separate written scope.
Coastal weather, flat lots and drainage
The National Weather Service in Tampa Bay defines the area's wet season as roughly late May to early October, with June through September usually the wettest months and frequent afternoon thunderstorms. On low, flat coastal lots, that rain has few places to go. Plan the surface around drainage, not the other way round: send a photo of the run after a heavy storm, and have qualified site professionals handle grading and drainage design, which sits outside GOA's default scope unless written in.
Salt air and wind are also part of a waterfront site. Ask how each item is finished and anchored, and keep shade and loose items in your storm-prep plan. GOA confirms anchoring and finishes for your site in the written scope.
What Tampa's public dog parks show
The City of Tampa lists more than a dozen dog parks, from the Davis Islands Dog Park and Dog Beach to the New Tampa Rotary Dog Park. The Humane Society of Tampa Bay describes Davis Islands as having separate dry and beach areas, double-gated entries, disposal bags, trash cans and water. Those basics are what residents now expect from a community park too. GOA did not build these public parks; they are mentioned only as local context.

Frequently asked questions
Does GOA install dog parks in Tampa Bay?
Yes. Go Outdoor Amenities installs commercial dog parks in Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties when installation is written into the project scope. GOA is based in West Melbourne, Florida.
Can you add agility and shade to our existing fenced dog run?
Yes. GOA can scope an upgrade that keeps a sound fence and adds agility equipment, shade over seating, benches, waste stations, signage and water where the site supports it. Fence repairs, removal of old equipment and surfacing are included only when written into the scope.
Do we need a permit for a dog park in Hillsborough, Pinellas or Pasco?
It depends on the parcel and the work. Hillsborough lists PVC, wood and chain-link fences as exempt from building permits but requires one for concrete or electrical fences. Pasco's exemption list does not cover commercial parcels or flood-zone parcels. Check with the county or city office for your site. GOA can coordinate permitting under a separate written scope.
How do you handle drainage on flat coastal lots?
Drainage is planned from the actual site before a surface is chosen. Send a photo of the area after a heavy rain. Grading and drainage design are done by qualified site professionals and are outside GOA's default scope unless written in.
Do you work with condo associations and CDDs?
Yes. GOA writes scopes for condo associations, HOAs and CDDs that list equipment, freight, site work, installation, warranty and exclusions, so the board or district manager can review exactly what is included.
What is the difference between a dog park project and a dog park package?
A project is a dog park scoped and installed for your site. A package is a ready-to-ship equipment kit with no installation, shipped to the contiguous U.S. See the packages page for equipment-only options.
What should I send to get a quote?
Photos from all four corners of the area, a wide shot of how people approach it, a photo after rain if possible, approximate dimensions, whether fencing, water and power exist, and your board date. Use gooutdooramenities.com/get-quote or call (321) 312-0767.
