Dog Park Installation in Melbourne and Brevard County
Go Outdoor Amenities (GOA) is based in West Melbourne, so Brevard County is our home market. We plan and install commercial dog parks for Space Coast HOAs and condo associations, CDDs and master-planned communities, apartment communities, RV resorts and parks departments, from Titusville to Palm Bay and out to the barrier islands. Every project ends in a written scope that separates equipment, freight, site work, installation, warranty and exclusions, and installation is included when it is written into that scope. For the statewide overview, see our Florida dog park installation page.
Why a local builder matters on the Space Coast
Being in Brevard means we can walk your site, see where water sits after a storm and meet your board or property manager without a long trip. It also means we know the difference between a mainland site in Viera or Palm Bay and an oceanfront condo in Satellite Beach or Cocoa Beach, where salt air, wind and limited common area change what makes sense.
Who we build for in Brevard
- HOAs and CDDs: growing master-planned communities in Viera and south Brevard, with board-ready, line-item scopes.
- Condo associations: compact, easy-to-clean dog runs for beachside buildings.
- Apartment communities: pet amenities sized to the property. See apartment communities.
- RV resorts and campgrounds: dog areas planned around guest flow. See campground and RV dog parks.
- Parks departments: quotes and RFP support for public amenities. See cities and municipalities.
Brevard permitting: county or city?
For unincorporated Brevard County, building permits are issued by Planning and Development at the county Government Center, 2725 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Viera, phone (321) 633-2187, and contractors can apply online through the county's Advanced Service Site (BASS). The county's fence permit page says a permit is needed to add or replace a fence, with an exemption only for repairing less than 50% in the same size, material and location, and the application needs a survey with the fence line, height and materials marked. Commercial and multi-family projects have their own permit tracks.
Most of Brevard's population lives inside cities such as Melbourne, West Melbourne, Palm Bay, Rockledge, Cocoa and Titusville, and those cities run their own building departments. Check which jurisdiction your parcel is in first. GOA's default Florida installation scope does not include permit fees or filings, but we coordinate permitting and licensed trades such as concrete or electrical under a separate written scope.
Space Coast rain, sand and salt
Brevard gets most of its rain in summer and early fall. Florida State University's Florida Climate Center lists Melbourne's 1991–2020 normal rainfall at about 7.5 inches in June, 6.8 in July, 7.5 in August and 8.6 in September, and the NWS office in Melbourne notes the wet season usually starts in late May. Much of the mainland is flat flatwoods ground; Myakka fine sand, Florida's state soil, is described by the USDA as poorly drained with a high water table. Beachside lots are sandier but sit close to the water and in salt air.
That shapes three planning choices. Drainage comes first: send a photo of the area after a heavy rain, and have qualified site professionals handle grading and drainage design, which sit outside GOA's default scope unless written in. Surfacing comes next: natural turf, engineered surfacing and artificial pet turf all work in Brevard, with different trade-offs in drainage, heat and cleaning. Then finishes and anchoring, especially near the ocean or the Indian River Lagoon, which GOA confirms for your site in the written scope. Shade over seating should be in every Space Coast plan, because peak dog park use is early morning and after sunset.
Brevard's public dog parks
Brevard County Parks and Recreation lists dog parks across the county, including at Wickham Park in Melbourne and at county parks in Titusville, Cocoa Beach and Indian Harbour Beach. These parks set the baseline residents compare against, so a private community park should match them on the basics: double-gated entry, shade, water, waste stations and clear rules. GOA did not build these public parks; they are mentioned only as local context.
How a project works
- Share your site: property type, city or ZIP, photos or a site plan, and your board or owner decision date.
- GOA reviews the site and returns layout direction, equipment options and a budget range.
- Approve a written scope listing equipment, freight, site work, installation, warranty and exclusions.
- GOA coordinates delivery, and GOA-vetted crews assemble and anchor the equipment to the agreed scope.

Frequently asked questions
Is GOA a local dog park builder in Brevard County?
Yes. Go Outdoor Amenities is based in West Melbourne, Florida, in Brevard County, and plans and installs commercial dog parks when installation is written into the project scope.
Which Brevard communities do you serve?
GOA scopes dog park projects across Brevard County, including Melbourne, West Melbourne, Palm Bay, Viera, Rockledge, Cocoa, Titusville and the beachside communities.
Do I need a permit for a dog park fence in Brevard County?
In unincorporated Brevard, the county requires a permit to add or replace a fence, except for repairs of less than 50% in the same size, material and location. Inside a city such as Melbourne or Palm Bay, that city's building department applies. GOA's default scope does not include permit fees or filings, but permitting can be coordinated under a separate written scope.
Can you build a dog run at a beachside condo?
Yes. GOA can scope a compact run for a condo common area, with attention to drainage, easy cleaning, shade and finishes suited to salt air. Each item's finish and anchoring are confirmed in the written scope.
How do you handle drainage on Space Coast soils?
Drainage is planned from the actual site, because many mainland Brevard soils hold water near the surface. Send a photo after a heavy rain. Grading and drainage design are done by qualified site professionals and are outside GOA's default scope unless written in.
What is the difference between a dog park project and a dog park package?
A project is a dog park scoped and installed for your site. A package is a ready-to-ship equipment kit with no installation, shipped to the contiguous U.S. See the packages page for equipment-only options.
What should I send to get a quote?
Photos from all four corners of the area, a wide shot of how people approach it, a photo after rain if possible, approximate dimensions, whether fencing, water and power exist, and your board date. Use gooutdooramenities.com/get-quote or call (321) 312-0767.
