Dog Park Installation in Orlando and Central Florida

Go Outdoor Amenities (GOA) plans and installs commercial dog parks and pet relief areas for Orlando and Central Florida properties: HOA and condo associations, CDDs in master-planned communities, apartment communities, hotels and public facilities. We are based in West Melbourne, in Brevard County, east of Orlando. Every project ends in a written scope that separates equipment, freight, site work, installation, warranty and exclusions, and installation is included when it is written into that scope. For the statewide overview, see our Florida dog park installation page.

Built for high-traffic pet areas

Central Florida has more publicly used pet areas than most regions: airports, hotels, mixed-use districts and busy apartment communities where dozens of dogs use the same small space every day. Those sites need different priorities than a quiet HOA run. Surfaces have to be washable, waste stations have to be easy to service, signage has to be clear to visitors who have never been there, and the layout has to handle constant turnover.

Recent Central Florida work: In September 2026 GOA completed the installation of pet relief areas at a major Orlando public facility. The work included artificial turf, a fire hydrant feature, a pet waste station and signage inside fenced areas. We will name the client and show the project photos once the client approves.

Who we build for in Central Florida

  • HOAs and CDDs: board-ready scopes for master-planned communities in Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties, with a line-item budget the board can vote on.
  • Apartment communities: dog runs sized to the number of units and residents, often added to an amenity refresh. See apartment communities.
  • Hotels, hospitality and public facilities: pet relief areas planned for visitors, cleaning crews and constant use.
  • Parks departments: quotes and RFP support for public dog park amenities. See cities and municipalities.

Orlando-area permitting: who to call

Permits depend on where the parcel sits. In unincorporated Orange County, permits run through the Orange County Division of Building Safety, 201 S. Rosalind Ave., 1st Floor, Orlando (407-836-5550), with applications filed online through Fast Track. The county's own "Do I Need a Permit" guidance says fences 6 feet or under are permitted through Zoning (407-836-3111), fences over 6 feet or built of masonry need a building permit, and pouring concrete, such as a pad for a bench, shade footing or water fountain, requires a permit. Inside the City of Orlando or another city, that city's permitting office applies instead.

GOA's default Florida installation scope does not include permit fees or filings. When a project needs permits or licensed trades such as concrete or electrical work, we coordinate them under a separate written scope, so your board knows who is responsible before work starts.

Central Florida weather and soils

The Orlando area sits in what the National Weather Service calls Florida's lightning capital, where the Atlantic and Gulf sea breezes collide over the interior. The wet season usually starts in late May, and summer afternoon storms can drop heavy rain on a park in an hour. Much of the region's flatwoods ground is like Myakka fine sand, Florida's official state soil, which the USDA describes as poorly drained with a high water table. In practice that means low spots in a dog area can hold water for days.

So we plan drainage from the actual site before choosing a surface: where water goes after a storm, existing grades and drains, and what base turf or engineered surfacing needs. Equipment can't fix standing water, so grading and drainage design are handled by qualified site professionals and are outside GOA's default scope unless written in. Shade comes next: over owner seating first, then over the areas where dogs gather, because peak use is early morning and after sunset.

Learning from Orange County's public dog parks

Orange County Parks runs off-leash areas at parks such as Barber Park on Gatlin Avenue, Downey Park and West Orange Park. The county notes that West Orange and Downey include a separate small-dog area, a time-out area, water fountains and waste stations. Those features are a useful checklist for a private community park too: separate large and small dog areas, a double-gated entry, water, and waste stations placed where people walk. GOA did not build these public parks; they are mentioned only as local context.

How a project works

  1. Share your site: property type, city or ZIP, photos or a site plan, and your board or owner decision date.
  2. Get layout direction, equipment options and a budget range.
  3. Approve a written scope that lists equipment, freight, site work, installation, warranty and exclusions.
  4. GOA coordinates delivery, and GOA-vetted crews assemble and anchor the equipment to the agreed scope.

Frequently asked questions

Does GOA install dog parks in Orlando?

Yes. Go Outdoor Amenities installs commercial dog parks and pet relief areas in Orlando and Central Florida when installation is written into the project scope. GOA is based in West Melbourne, Florida, in neighboring Brevard County.

Do you install pet relief areas for hotels and public facilities in Orlando?

Yes. GOA plans pet relief areas for high-traffic sites, including turf, a hydrant feature, waste stations, signage and fencing when they are written into the scope. GOA completed a pet relief area installation at an Orlando public facility in September 2026; the client will be named once they approve.

Do I need an Orange County permit for a dog park fence?

Orange County's guidance says fences 6 feet or under are permitted through the Zoning Division and fences over 6 feet or built of masonry need a building permit; concrete work also needs a permit. Inside city limits, the city's permitting office applies. GOA's default scope does not include permit fees or filings, but permitting can be coordinated under a separate written scope.

How do you handle drainage on Central Florida soils?

Drainage is planned from the actual site, because many Central Florida soils hold water near the surface. Send a photo of the area after a heavy rain. Grading and drainage design are done by qualified site professionals and are outside GOA's default scope unless written in.

What surfacing works best for an Orlando dog park?

Natural turf, engineered surfacing and artificial pet turf are all used. High-traffic pet relief areas often favor washable artificial turf; community parks weigh drainage, heat, cleaning and budget. Surfacing is included only when it is quoted in the written scope.

What is the difference between a dog park project and a dog park package?

A project is a dog park scoped and installed for your site. A package is a ready-to-ship equipment kit with no installation, shipped to the contiguous U.S. See the packages page for equipment-only options.

What should I send to get a quote?

Photos from all four corners of the area, a wide shot of how people approach it, a photo after rain if possible, approximate dimensions, whether fencing, water and power exist, and your board or owner date. Use gooutdooramenities.com/get-quote or call (321) 312-0767.
