Coordinated vs. Equipment-Only Outdoor Amenity Projects

Compare equipment-only purchasing with a planned outdoor amenity project by scope, responsibilities, budget, schedule, installation, risk, and closeout.

Coordinated vs. Equipment-Only Outdoor Amenity Projects

Equipment-only purchasing provides defined products and freight; the buyer handles site planning, unloading, foundations, surfacing, installation, approvals, inspections, and closeout. A planned or "coordinated" project coordinates more of those responsibilities under a written scope. Buyers should compare exact inclusions and exclusions rather than relying on labels.

When equipment-only fits

Choose equipment-only when the property has confirmed the site, understands the products and clearances, can receive freight, and has qualified resources for site work and installation. GOA's nationwide Dog Park and Outdoor Fitness Packages are equipment-only offers.

When a project path fits

Choose consultation-led planning when the property needs layouts or renderings when available, alternative products, budgeting, multiple amenity elements, delivery coordination, or installation. GOA installation is available in Florida when requested; outside Florida, project installation depends on scope and partner availability.

Compare responsibilities

Clarify who handles measurement, design, engineering, permits, utilities, drainage, foundations, surfacing, freight, unloading, storage, installation, inspections, restoration, warranty records, and maintenance. "Coordinated" should never be assumed to include every item without a written scope.

Compare budget and schedule

Equipment price is not installed-project price. Include tax, freight, site work, professional services, installation, contingency, and ownership. Schedule assumptions should address approvals, availability, freight, weather, curing, inspections, and changes.

Evaluate risk and closeout

Review contract boundaries, insurance, delivery damage, change orders, site conditions, warranty, parts, training or turnover where included, final documents, and open items. Keep product and maintenance records after completion.

GOA has supported more than 500 projects. Compare equipment-only and Florida project options.
